This 4 day Garden Route tour (SILVER) is departing from Cape Town and returning to Cape Town. We travel as far east as the Tsitsikamma Forest and return via the Little Karoo to Cape Town. This tour is running parallel to the southernmost coastline of Africa, is famous for its unique diversity of lakes, mountains, golden beaches, cliffs and dense indigenous forests. Its extraordinary beauty complements the contrast of the adjacent semi-arid valley, called the Little Karoo. This region also offers natural wonders such as the Cango Caves.

Policies & disclaimers

1. This 4 day Garden Route tour (SILVER) requires a 20% deposit payment at the time of booking. The final amount is due 35 days before departure.
2. 100% Deposit will be required when departure date is LESS than 40 Days from time of booking.

4. Children under 12 years sharing with both parents pays 50% of the fee subject to availability.
5. Infants under 2 years old pay only for certain services provided by the hotels. Bring an infant seat along or request one from us at R60.00 per day.
6. Please inform us of any special culinary, physical or other requirements you may have when booking your tour.
7. Third person sharing are accommodated on certain tours, please ask us.
8. Once you paid online for a tour and for some reason it is not available, we shall inform you of the situation and refund you fully within 72 hours of your payment made if other proposed options are not suitable with no further liability to any party.

10. Please inform us if you require any pre- and/or post tour accommodation and/or other services.

Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 - Cape Town – Mossel Bay – George - Knysna.
Depart from Cape Town and drive eastwards via Sir Lowry's Pass and the famous apple country of Grabouw to Swellendam and Mossel Bay. Here we visit arguably the oldest post office in Africa, the Post Office Tree, and the site of the first landfall, made by the Portuguese explorer Bartholomeu Dias in 1488. From here we truly enter the Garden Route and travel past George via the Wilderness Lakelands to Knysna. Overnight at Fish Eagle Lodge or similar.

DAY 2 - Knysna – Plettenberg Bay – Tsitsikamma National Park - Knysna.
We explore Knysna and travel further to Plettenberg Bay. Then we traverse through magnificent scenic river valley passes. We visit the Tsitsikamma National Park (Khoisan for 'The place of much water') stretching over 100 km of wild and rocky coastline characterised by massive cliffs, narrow isolated beaches and shady indigenous forests along the river valleys. Our next stop is the Storms River with the impressive Paul Sauer Bridge across the valley, towering 139 m above the river. Return to Knysna via the “Big Tree” and spend the last part of the afternoon exploring the Heads at Knysna. Overnight at Fish Eagle Lodge or similar.

DAY 3 - Knysna – George - Oudtshoorn.
We board a boat for a short trip on the Knysna Lagoon. Then traverse through the lake lands, along high cliffs with the sea beneath, through tunnels and over bridges to George. We travel via the scenic Outeniqua Pass to Oudsthoorn, also known as the 'Feather Capital' of the world, as by far the largest concentration of ostrich farms in the world are found here. We visit the Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa's foremost natural wonders. The fascinating calcite caves comprises an underground wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites. Overnight at La Plume Guest Lodge.

DAY 4 - Oudtshoorn – Montagu – Worcester – Cape Town.
After an early starton this Garden Route Tour, we visit an ostrich show farm for some unique experiences, including ostrich racing. Travel further via Montagu and Worcester through the Huguenot Tunnel. On the other side of the mountains, on a clear day, you can see Table Mountain in the distance. Arrive in Cape Town where the tour ends.
